These are familiar situations as a festival approaches.

  • I bought a ticket, but suddenly I can't go…
  • I wasn't planning to go this year, but maybe I will after all?
  • If I can get a cheap ticket, I might go, since everyone else is going too…
This time I have put together ways to get good-value tickets in such cases.

If Price Does Not Matter, the Official Site Is Best

Sorry for such a blunt answer, but it is the truth.

These days, official sites generally sell advance tickets until around the evening before the event.

Trading sites can leave you with counterfeits, and individual deals can involve financial disputes, so ultimately official channels are best.

Still, I Want to Buy Cheaply…

If you understand the official options but want to buy as cheaply as possible, using trading sites with an awareness of the risks is not a bad idea.

Here are three comparatively reputable trading sites with lower risks.

Of course, do not forget to check the prices.

For some reason, buying normally on the official site sometimes turns out to be cheaper.

Unused tickets become nothing more than scraps of paper once the event time has passed, so compare resale options with the official site right before the event.

Honestly, Japan's festival boom seems to have passed, and official sites will probably still have plenty of tickets immediately before events, so there is no need to take unnecessary risks.
