[First Visit] I Went to Kuala Lumpur's Uplifting Trance Event “STAKE OF SOUND”!

2019/4/2

On Saturday, March 30, in Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur, at KL Live, I attended the uplifting trance event “STAKE OF SOUND – Unlimited”.

I wrote about the lineup and location in the article below, so have a look if you are interested!

Tonight I'm Going to Kuala Lumpur's Uplifting Trance Event “STAKE OF SOUND” March 30, 2019

Chris Schweizer

Chris Schweizer is now firmly established as one of the leading tech trance DJs.

Perhaps because he was playing a support slot, he may have been a little restrained this time!?

Shugz

Shugz from the UK.

Tracks with a hard techno feel stood out.

Giuseppe Ottaviani

One of this event's headliners.

Giuseppe Ottaviani, like Paul van Dyk, is known for live performances with his own distinctive setup, but his equipment broke down partway through, so he switched to a DJ set.

The way he could still deliver a flawless set despite the problem was truly impressive.

Sneijder

The other headliner, Sneijder.

Because of my schedule, I could only stay for part of his set (and also had to miss Scot Project afterward...), but his drive, hard-hitting energy, contrasts, and consistency were first-rate.

Trance's Appeal Is in the Production and the People

This was my first trance event since ABGT, and the spectacular lighting and staging really felt great.

Also, trance crowds are warm and close-knit in a good way.

That was true here, at ADE, and at ABGT, so it must be the same all around the world.

Another Big Trance Event in Kuala Lumpur on Friday April 26!

So I enjoyed my first trance event in a while, and on Friday April 26 there is another event every bit as good.

In Bukit Bintang, at the club ZION, Friday April 26 will see GREG DOWNEY as the main act at “SKULLDUGGY KUALA LUMPUR”.

Alex Di Stefano and Stoneface & Terminal are also performing, and the lineup should really appeal to fans of uplifting trance and tech trance.

I will have moved on to Thailand by then, so I do not think I can go, but if you are arriving in Kuala Lumpur ahead of Golden Week and love trance, be sure to check it out.
